Osun Babes have secured a return to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) ahead of the 2025–26 season.
The Osun State government confirmed the development in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Football Matters, Kehinde Johnson.
It will be recalled that Osun Babes narrowly missed out on promotion during the NWFL Championship tournament last month.
According to the statement, the decision to facilitate the team’s return reflects the government’s commitment to nurturing and promoting sports development, especially women’s football in the state.
Osun Babes were relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2022–23 season.
Meanwhile, the kick-off date for the 2025–26 NWFL season is yet to be announced by the league organisers.
