Governor Ademola Adeleke has been cleared by the Accord Party to participate in the party’s governorship primary, which is ongoing on Wednesday in Osogbo.
The announcement was made in a statement by Ibe Thankgod, Chairman of the screening committee and National Organising Secretary of the party.
Thankgod confirmed that Adeleke met all the requirements for nomination and has been cleared as the sole aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket.
He also described the governor as a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant” for the party.
The certificate of clearance was formally presented to Adeleke by the committee chairman. In response, the governor expressed gratitude to the screening committee and the party leadership, reiterating his commitment to leading the Accord Party to victory in 2026.
“I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” Adeleke said.
The governor had announced his defection to the Accord Party on Tuesday night, following his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on December 2.
