Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen says his full attention has turned to international duty as Nigeria prepares to face Gabon in Thursday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash.
Osimhen addressed reporters shortly after Galatasaray’s 1-0 loss to Kocaelispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday. Dan Agyei’s first-half strike at the Kocaeli Stadium sealed victory for the hosts.
Although disappointed with the result, the Super Eagles forward made it clear that his priority had already switched to representing Nigeria.
“I have to travel. The game has happened, it has happened,” Osimhen told journalists.
“I have moved on from that. Now I focus on my national team.”
Nigeria will host Gabon on Thursday, with kick-off scheduled for 5 p.m., Nigerian time.
