Victor Osimhen scored all three goals as Galatasaray defeated Ajax 3-0 in their UEFA Champions League encounter at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old striker opened the scoring in the 59th minute, sneaking behind the Ajax defence to head home a floated cross from Leroy Sane.
Osimhen then converted two penalty kicks within 10 minutes to complete his first-ever UCL hat-trick.
The goals take his tally in the UCL this season to six, sending him to the top of the goalscorer chart. Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Kylian Mbappe are all on five goals.
The Super Eagles striker had scored one goal against Liverpool and another brace against Bodo/Glimt in his last two UCL matches.
Osimhen also became the highest-scoring Nigerian across all UEFA club competitions with 25 goals, eclipsing Obafemi Martins’ 23-goal record.
In other matches, Chelsea settled for a 2-2 draw against Qarabag, Barcelona drew 3-3 with Club Brugge, Manchester City defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-1, Newcastle United beat Athletic Club de Bilbao 2-0, and Inter Milan edged Kairat FC 2-1.
