Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, have arrested a 19-year-old suspected serial motorcycle-border robber, identified as Oyediran Ayomide.
The arrest was made during the ongoing Ember Border Security Patrol, codenamed Operation Le Won Jade.
Ayomide, a native of Kwara State, was apprehended in Ore after allegedly attacking a commercial motorcycle rider with a sledgehammer and escaping with the victim’s bike.
Confirming the development, the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Superintendent Jimoh Adeniken, said the suspect had long been a menace to motorcyclists across the state before he was finally captured.
According to Adeniken, Ayomide has been handed over to the Kwara State Local Government Security Initiative for further investigation and prosecution.
He added that the suspect confessed to committing the crime and claimed he intended to use the stolen motorcycle for commercial transport operations in Ore.
