Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has presented her debut feature film, Mother’s Love, at the 34th edition of the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) in Los Angeles.
The screening marks another international milestone for the actress, who has spent more than three decades in Nigeria’s film industry. While widely celebrated for her acting career, Mother’s Love represents her first project as a feature film producer.
In recent months, the film has been showcased at several global platforms, including the Dubai International Film Festival, the Silicon Valley African Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Africa International Film Festival.
Reflecting on the milestone, Omotola described the project as a personal achievement. “Thirty years in the industry and this is my first movie and it’s a gift to families,” she said.
Among attendees at the Los Angeles screening was Haitian actor and humanitarian Jimmy Jean-Louis, alongside members of the African diaspora creative community and other industry stakeholders.
Mother’s Love explores themes of family, sacrifice and the emotional cost of love when power and fear intersect.
The film is scheduled to premiere in Lagos on March 1, ahead of its nationwide theatrical release on March 6, 2026.
With the project, Omotola expands her footprint beyond acting, reinforcing her longstanding influence within Nollywood and the global African film community.
