Omah Lay’s latest album Clarity of Mind is enjoying massive success across major music platforms, with multiple tracks from the project rising to the top of Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music and Audiomack charts. The project, released on April 3, has quickly become one of the most streamed Nigerian albums this year.
The 12 track album was released globally on April 3, 2026, on all streaming platforms. It features only one guest appearance, Elmah and explores themes centred on self reflection, emotional healing and personal clarity. Tracks such as Artificial Happiness, I Am, Canada Breeze, Water Spirit and Coping Mechanism have become early fan favourites.
As of this week, Artificial Happiness, I Am and Don’t Love Me occupy the top three spots on Apple Music Nigeria’s Top 100 chart. On Spotify, Artificial Happiness sits in the upper ranks, and Coping Mechanism, I Am and Canada Breeze continue to climb. The album itself currently holds the No. 1 position on Nigeria’s Apple Music Top Albums chart.
Omah Lay first announced Clarity of Mind as a project created during a period of introspection, building on the vulnerable style that shaped his earlier works. His sound on this album blends Afro-fusion with electronic elements he describes as “purple,” a sonic direction he has been experimenting with over the past year.
The artist, who began his career as a teenage producer, has grown into one of the most streamed Nigerian voices globally. He previously earned a 2026 Grammy nomination for With You, his collaboration with Davido, in the Best African Music Performance category.
In a recent comment that sparked online conversations, Omah Lay declared confidence in his artistic ability, saying: “I’m the best at this. I don’t mean to brag… but I am the best in the last 20 years.”
He added: “If you bring together all Afrobeats artistes, when it comes to true artistry and making music, I stand alone at the top. The only person I sometimes put on the same level as me is Burna Boy. He’s the sole artiste I look at and think, ‘yes, he’s up there.’ Apart from Burna, it’s just me.”
With Clarity of Mind now leading multiple music charts, observers say the project may become one of the most impactful Nigerian albums of 2026.
