Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has successfully undergone surgery on a hamstring injury.
The 28-year-old, who sustained the setback while on international duty with Nigeria last week, went under the knife on Tuesday.
Aina is now expected to be sidelined for three months, casting doubt over his fitness ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The former Chelsea full-back had made three appearances for Forest this season before the injury struck.
His recovery will be closely monitored as he battles to return in time for the continental showpiece.
