Oketch Salah has come out to clear the air over his relationship with the late Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Turkwel after visiting a water project he drilled for residents of Songok Village, Salah said Odinga was a father figure to many people, including himself, whom he mentored and supported over the years.
“Raila was a father to more than 20 million Kenyans. That is why he is called father, he embraced many Kenyans,” he said.
However, he clarified that he was not raised in the Odinga homestead but by his biological father.
“I was not raised by Baba Raila. I was raised by my father, Salah,” he said.
Salah also recalled that during the burial of the late Dalmas Otieno, Raila entrusted him with delivering a condolence message on his behalf.
“I asked Raila what I should say about who I am when reading the letter on your behalf, and he told me to say I am his adopted son,” he said.
