Nigerian billionaire and nightlife entrepreneur, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has announced plans to retire from active business within the next decade.
In a recent interview, the 50-year-old businessman said he intends to slow down by the time he turns 60, dedicating his later years to exploring the world and spending quality time with his wife.
According to the father of five, his current focus is on building a solid legacy and ensuring that his children achieve financial independence before his retirement.
“By the time I turn 60, I’ll be done,” he said. “I want to travel the world and give my wife the best experience life can offer. The idea now is to make sure my kids come up and become independent to live for the rest of their lives. No more work.”
Cubana, who is known for his vast business empire spanning hospitality, entertainment, and real estate, said his hectic lifestyle is part of a deliberate effort to lay a lasting foundation for his family’s future.
He added that his approach to success centers on working smart and building sustainable systems that will allow him to enjoy the rewards of his hard work in his later years.
“Right now, it’s all about structure and sustainability. I want to get to a point where my businesses can thrive without my daily involvement,” he noted.
Obi Cubana, the founder of the popular Cubana Group, has become one of Nigeria’s most influential businessmen, often celebrated for his entrepreneurial drive, philanthropy, and commitment to youth empowerment.
