
In Edo State, a shocking video shows the assault of the veteran Nollywood filmmaker Don Pedro Obaseki getting attacked and paraded through Benin City over allegations that he insulted the Oba of Benin.
The Oba of Benin was said to have not ordered the action, with one of the palace chiefs stating that the Oba was at a thanksgiving service to mark the end of the annual Igue festival.
It comes as Obaseki later released a video where he narrated how he was abducted, beaten by thugs and stripped.
In another development, the city of Lagos came alive as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu joined thousands of residents for the grand finale of the Eyo Festival at the Tafawa Balewa Square.
On the other hand, the festival was marred by violence that erupted after hoodlums masquerading as Eyo participants were seen in videos assaulting residents.
