Members of the Nyeri County Assembly (MCAs)have broken their silence following calls by a section of leaders urging them to table a motion to impeach Governor Mutahi Kahiga.
The MCAs have dismissed the calls, saying there are no plans or discussions within the assembly to remove the governor from office.
According to the ward representatives, those pushing for the governor’s impeachment are using the issue to advance divisive politics and to portray the Mount Kenya region as tribal. They maintain that the assembly remains united and focused on delivering services to the people of Nyeri.
