The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has officially revealed its standout lineup for the initial phase of the 2025/26 campaign, celebrating the top performers from the season’s first stanza. The prestigious “Best XI” roster highlights the tactical excellence and individual brilliance that defined the opening rounds, with Remo Stars Ladies emerging as the most represented club after securing three spots in the honorary squad.
The defensive and midfield stability provided by Eberechukwu Eleka, Hannafi Ibrahim, and Nkiruka Obioma proved instrumental in Remo Stars’ dominance during this period. Meanwhile, Rivers Angels also enjoyed significant recognition, boasting two selections in Abasiofon Uwah and Ramatalahi Kareem. The duo has been a formidable offensive force, accounting for a combined total of 12 goals so far. Notably, Uwah has established herself as the league’s most clinical finisher, ending the first round at the summit of the Golden Boot standings with seven individual strikes.
The talent pool for the mid-season honors was further diversified by several other top-flight clubs. Bayelsa Queens contributed a talented pair to the list in Kindness Ifeanyi and Blessing Ilivieda, while the attacking ranks were bolstered by the inclusion of Edo Queens’ forward Atume Doosur, Abia Angels’ standout Winner David, and Nasarawa Amazons’ defensive stalwart Ayatsea Hembafan.
Recognizing the tactical leadership behind these on-field successes, the NWFL designated Rivers Angels’ head coach Tosan Blankson as the “Manager of the Round.” His strategic management has been pivotal in his side’s competitive positioning as the league moves into its second half. The unveiling of this elite eleven underscores the rising standard of women’s professional football in the country as the race for the title intensifies.
