Former world No. 1 Novak Djokovic will return to action at the Shanghai Masters next month, tournament organisers confirmed on Tuesday.
“He’s back… Our 4-time champ will return to Shanghai this year,” organisers posted on social media ahead of the event, which starts October 1.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion, who last played in his US Open semi-final loss to Carlos Alcaraz in September, had kept his late-season schedule uncertain after competing in fewer tournaments in 2025.
Djokovic, 38, has so far only committed to the Athens 250 event (Nov 2–8), while his participation in the Paris Masters (Oct 27–Nov 2) and ATP Finals in Turin (Nov 9–16) remains unconfirmed.
The Serbian star is a four-time Shanghai champion, having won the title in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2018.
