Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to appointing Sean Dyche as their new head coach following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou.
According to reports on Monday, Dyche has emerged as the leading candidate for the role, with the club hopeful of finalising the deal before the end of the day.
Postecoglou was sacked just 17 minutes after Forest’s 3–0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday — a result that left the team 18th in the Premier League with only one win in eight matches.
Dyche, who has held positive talks with Forest officials over the past 24 hours, is said to be in pole position for the job, with reports saying that his chances of landing the role have improved significantly over the weekend.
Other names linked with the position include Roberto Mancini and Fulham’s Marco Silva, but Silva’s contractual release clause and reluctance to leave mid-season appear to complicate his chances.
Forest are now seeking stability after a turbulent start to the campaign that has already seen the club part ways with two managers — Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo — this season.
