The North Carolina Courage, a prominent club in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), has successfully announced the acquisition of Super Falcons forward Chioma Okafor.
The 22-year-old attacking player officially finalized a three-year contract with the option for the club to extend the agreement for an additional year. Okafor has transitioned into the professional ranks by signing her inaugural professional contract with the Courage immediately after concluding her decorated collegiate soccer career at the University of Connecticut (UConn).
During her four seasons playing for the UConn Huskies, the striker proved highly effective, recording 30 goals and five assists over 57 total appearances.
Okafor was also part of the Super Falcons’ roster that participated in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). However, she did not feature in any match for Justine Madugu’s side during the tournament.
