Actors, actresses, and filmmakers came together on Thursday to pay their final respects to late Nollywood actress and producer, Allwell Ademola, during a special prayer session and Service of Songs held in her honour.
Ademola, who was 49, died on December 27 after suffering a heart attack at her residence, a loss that has deeply affected the Nigerian film community.
The solemn gathering drew several prominent figures from the industry, including Odunlade Adekola, Iyabo Ojo, Saheed Balogun, Bolaji Amusan, and Fathia Williams, all of whom came to celebrate her life and contributions to Nollywood.
One of the most emotional moments of the evening came when Rotimi Salami, a close friend of the late actress, delivered a heartfelt tribute. Fighting back tears, Salami appealed to those present to forgive Ademola for any grievances and to continue praying for her soul.
He urged colleagues and loved ones to preserve her legacy, describing her as a passionate creative whose impact would endure beyond her passing.
Following the Service of Songs, attendees participated in a candlelight procession, which later gave way to an Artistes’ Night. The tribute events were scheduled to conclude with closing remarks at about 11:00pm.
Allwell Ademola is set to be laid to rest on Friday at the Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos State.
Widely regarded as a versatile actress, producer, and singer, Ademola made notable contributions to the Nigerian film industry. Since news of her death broke, tributes and messages of condolence have continued to pour in from colleagues, fans, and well-wishers across the country.
