Nollywood actor and social media influencer Stanley Ontop has been arrested on the campus of Dennis Osadebe University, where he is studying law.
The arrest, which occurred Friday afternoon, reportedly followed a petition from an unknown individual, as shared on Stanley’s Instagram story.
Challenging the school authorities, Stanley questioned why the police acted without first summoning him. “Some policemen came to my school this afternoon to arrest me over a petition from an unknown person. Coming to school to arrest me, the school authorities and the government must be aware of this lawlessness,” he wrote.
He continued, “How can you invade a university to perfect my arrest, what happened to an invitation?”
Journalists report that this incident comes a week after actor Frederick Leonard filed a petition against Stanley Ontop over alleged defamation.
The development has sparked discussions online about proper legal procedures and the role of educational institutions in handling police actions on campus.
