The Nigeria National League (NNL) has announced that the 2025/26 season will officially commence on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The decision was made during the NNL Annual General Meeting held in Kaduna on Tuesday.
As part of the resolutions, the league body confirmed the scrapping of the Super Eight playoff tournament. Instead, the top teams from each of the four groups will gain automatic promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The season’s curtain-raiser will see Lobi Stars face City FC in the opening fixture.
