A former governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, has dismissed reports claiming he apologized to ex-Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi over previous comments.
In a statement issued by his media office on Saturday, Nnamani described the claims as “entirely false, misleading, and a deliberate act of misinformation”. He emphasized that at no point, in public or private, did he issue any apology or make the remarks attributed to him.
The former governor accused the sources of the story of fabricating the narrative to advance a political agenda. “Senator Nnamani has always spoken forthrightly and stands firmly by his political views and past statements.
He does not engage in political revisionism, nor does he apologize for exercising his right to free expression within the bounds of democratic discourse”, the statement said.
Nnamani urged the public to disregard the falsehood, warning that such misinformation seeks only to manipulate opinion and drag his name into “cheap propaganda”.
He added that he remains focused on issues of national importance and will not be distracted by manufactured controversies.
