Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has assured fans that the team is mentally and physically ready for their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifying first-leg encounter against the Amazons of Benin Republic.
The crucial match is set to take place on Friday (today) at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, Togo, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. Nigerian time.
The reigning African champions, who arrived in Lomé on Monday to fine-tune preparations, have been training intensely at the Agbodrafo Academy ahead of the fixture.
Speaking during a press conference, Nnadozie, who plies her trade with Brighton & Hove Albion, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and unity.
“The spirit is very high. From the day we knew we were going to face Benin Republic, we’ve been communicating on how we can defeat them. We are mentally and physically prepared,” she said.
The Super Falcons will be aiming to secure a strong first-leg result before returning home for the reverse fixture as they continue their bid to qualify for another WAFCON title defence.
