Vivian Nkwiruka, wife of Nigerian actor Nwaogu Udochukwu Victor, widely known as Nkubi, has spoken out about what she described as a troubling encounter with a medical professional during her pregnancy.
In a recent interview with Pulse, Nkwiruka alleged that a doctor questioned her decision to conceive with her husband, who has dwarfism.
According to her account, the doctor asked whether dwarfism existed in her family. When she responded that her husband has the condition, she said the conversation took an unexpected turn.
“The doctor asked, ‘Does anyone have a trait of dwarfism in your family?’ and I said, ‘Yes, that is my husband,’” she recalled.
She further alleged that the doctor suggested alternative options, including seeking pregnancy through her brother-in-law or using a sperm donor.
“The doctor said, why didn’t you go to your brother-in-law, or outside to get pregnant, instead of getting pregnant for your husband? Or even get a sperm donor — that’s what a doctor told me,” she said.
The revelation has drawn reactions online, with many expressing support for the couple and condemning what they described as insensitive and inappropriate remarks.
Nkubi, a popular Nollywood actor and skit maker, has previously spoken about challenges related to dwarfism and public perception. The latest disclosure has reignited conversations around medical ethics, discrimination, and respect for persons with disabilities.
