Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has made headlines after boldly proving the authenticity of her ₦3 million iPhone 17 by joining the trending “Apple Challenge.”
The viral challenge, initiated by media personality Daddy Freeze, encourages users to test their phones’ originality by submerging them in water, a move meant to expose fake or refurbished devices being sold under false claims.
In a video shared online, Nkechi confidently dipped her iPhone 17 into a bowl of water while recording the process, confirming that her device was genuine.
Before conducting the test, the actress showcased her collection of Apple gadgets, emphasizing that all her devices were authentic.
Addressing critics who mocked her for flaunting the phone, she fired back in Pidgin English, saying:
“I am an Apple girl, as you can see. All my gadgets are Apple. I no go let una wey dey buy this iPhone 17 wey I buy for ₦3 million for ₦450k, ₦250k or ₦50k disrespect me. This Apple Challenge na Daddy Freeze start am. If una sure, put una phone inside water like this.”
Her participation comes amid growing online debates over the authenticity of iPhones owned by celebrities and influencers, with many Nigerians questioning whether the latest Apple models being flaunted online are truly original.
The “Apple Challenge” has since gained massive traction on social media, sparking conversations about luxury culture, tech authenticity, and celebrity lifestyle in Nigeria.
