Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has taken a stand against online trolls, calling out those who feel entitled to attack her personal life because of her celebrity status.
In a video posted on Instagram, the actress questioned why being in the public eye makes people believe they can freely criticize her marital status, age, or life choices.
“Is it okay for someone to come at you unprovoked? Marriage shames you, children shame you. Just like that? Because you are a so-called celebrity. I’ve always said this. I’m not a celebrity. I am human just like you,” she said.
The actress also revealed that she directly confronted one troll in her DMs, trading harsh words and making it clear she would not be intimidated.
“You give me, I give you, and then everybody go dey okay. Then you now run kitikiti–katakata, you were crying because of just one line. But you, you write plenty now. Like I said, I’m not a celebrity. You bring rubbish to me, I give you rubbish back,” she stated.
Nkechi further noted that many people only focus on her reaction rather than the provocation behind it. Captioning her post, she wrote:
“Nobody sees the trigger, they only see your reaction. What a world we live in… Like I said, Aura for Aura. Nobody can mess with my mental health, never.”
The actress has been in the spotlight recently, defending herself against online criticism, including backlash from a viral gym photo.
