In furtherance of its oversight capabilities, the Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has equipped the Federal Character Commission (FCC) with advanced digital tools and specialized training.
This initiative aims to enhance the commission’s ability to manage data related to equitable representation in federal institutions.
Recently, NITDA concluded a comprehensive capacity-building program at the FCC headquarters, where 35 staff members received targeted training in data analysis and management. As part of this initiative, NITDA also donated 35 laptops to facilitate ongoing digital integration efforts.
Dr. Ahmed Yusuf Tambour, Acting Director of Digital Literacy and Capacity Building at NITDA, represented the agency’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa.
He emphasized that the training program was meticulously designed to address the specific operational needs of the FCC.
Dr. Tambour highlighted that improved digital literacy would enable the commission to manage nationwide data more efficiently and transparently, particularly in monitoring and ensuring equitable representation across federal institutions.
This initiative is part of NITDA’s broader “Digital Literacy for All” program and aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration efforts to reform governance structures for more effective service delivery.
Officials from both NITDA and the FCC expressed confidence that this intervention will enhance institutional efficiency and promote data-driven decision-making within the public service, ultimately supporting better governance in the country.
