
The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has successfully intercepted a consignment containing seven pouches of cannabis concealed within a duvet cover that arrived in Lagos from Thailand.
The shipment, which originated from Bangkok, was addressed to a recipient in Lagos, although details regarding the sender and receiver have been withheld as investigations are currently underway by the appropriate Security Agencies.
This significant interception highlights NIPOST’s ongoing commitment to transforming the postal industry into a secure, reliable, and trusted channel for communication and commerce.
It demonstrates the agency’s determination to protect the public from the dangers of illicit substances while safeguarding the integrity of the postal network.
The case has now been referred to the relevant Security Agencies for further investigation and action.
