The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast predominantly sunny and partly cloudy weather conditions across the country from Monday, December 29, 2025, to Wednesday.
The agency released the three-day outlook on Sunday in Abuja, indicating generally stable weather patterns with pockets of cloudiness and isolated rainfall in some parts of the country.
According to NiMet, the North will experience sunny skies throughout the period, with clear conditions expected from morning through afternoon and into the evening hours.
In the North-Central region, residents can expect sunny weather with a few cloud patches in the morning, followed by largely sunny conditions with occasional cloud cover in the afternoon and evening.
For the Southern region, NiMet forecast sunny skies with patches of clouds, alongside the possibility of isolated thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall. Morning rainfall is expected over parts of Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, southern Ondo, and southern Edo States.
The agency added that isolated thunderstorms with light rainfall may also occur in the afternoon over parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, Ondo, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Imo, Abia, and Anambra States.
NiMet advised motorists to exercise caution, warning that reduced visibility and slippery road conditions may occur in areas experiencing rainfall. Members of the public were also encouraged to plan outdoor activities and travel in line with prevailing weather conditions.
Airline operators were urged to obtain updated weather briefings from NiMet to ensure safe and efficient flight operations during the forecast period.
