In a significant move to improve service delivery and operational efficiency, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has approved the redeployment of 56 management-level officers across various departments and zonal offices.
The reshuffle, which was announced on Tuesday in a statement by the agency’s Head of Public Relations, Osagie Edward, is part of a broader strategy to revamp internal processes and strengthen coordination within the agency.
Director General of NIMASA, Dayo Mobereola, said the changes are designed to energise the organisation and promote stronger collaboration across departments, ultimately driving better performance in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
“This realignment is intended to inject fresh perspectives into key departments, enhance synergy across units, and reposition the agency to better deliver on its core mandate,” Mobereola stated.
Key Redeployments:
Under the new structure, several senior officials have been assigned to critical roles:
- Moji Jimoh – Director, Administration and Human Resources
- Aishatu Jidda – Director, Planning, Research and Data Management Services
- Heaky Dimowo – Director, Legal Services/Board Secretary
- Isichei Osamgbi – Director, SERVICOM

- Umar Ibrahim Sidi – Director, Maritime Labour Services

- Buba Umar – Director, Abuja Zonal Office
- Ahmed Shittien – Special Adviser (Technical) to the Director General
Mobereola urged the newly redeployed directors to leverage their experience and expertise to align with the agency’s strategic goals. He emphasised that the shake-up is a proactive step toward achieving a more agile and responsive maritime regulatory body.
“This is a deliberate measure to refresh our operational structure and better position NIMASA to support sustainable maritime development in Nigeria,” he added.
The redeployment marks a renewed push by the agency to deliver more effective maritime oversight, facilitate blue economy growth, and promote safety, security, and regulatory compliance within Nigerian waters.
