Flying Eagles midfielder Daniel Daga says he is confident Nigeria can bounce back when they face Saudi Arabia at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
The seven-time African champions lost their opening Group C game 1-0 to Norway, despite dominating possession and hitting the crossbar twice.
Another defeat would put Aliyu Zubairu’s side at risk of an early exit, but Daga insists they are ready to respond.
“I’m confident because we lost our game against Norway that we deserved to win. I know Saudi Arabia lost their game too,” he told reporters.
“It’s football, anything can happen so we are 100% prepared and confident to go out there and get the three points.”
Nigeria, who last reached the final of the tournament in 2005, are chasing their first U-20 World Cup title.
