The Nigerian Army has renewed its commitment to intensifying operations against armed groups, with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, urging Special Forces troops to sustain high-impact missions across the country.
During an operational visit to the 4 Special Forces Command in Doma, Nasarawa State, on March 3, 2026, the Army Chief charged personnel to remain focused on dismantling criminal networks and maintaining pressure on threats to national security.
According to the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Appolonia Anele, the visit was aimed at assessing readiness, boosting morale and strengthening ongoing security efforts.
Lt. Gen. Shaibu emphasised the importance of intelligence-led and precision-based operations, saying the evolving security landscape demands agility, coordination and professionalism. He encouraged troops to remain proactive and mission-oriented in all engagements.
The Army Chief received operational briefings from senior commanders and expressed satisfaction with the Command’s performance and training standards.
He also approved measures to improve infrastructure, including enhanced accommodation and training facilities, to support operational efficiency and troop welfare.
Reaffirming his commitment to personnel support, Shaibu pledged continued investment in logistics, equipment and combat capabilities to ensure sustained effectiveness in ongoing operations.
