Viktoria Plzeň forward Rafiu Durosinmi has attracted intense interest from at least eight clubs across England, setting the stage for a significant transfer battle in the upcoming January transfer window. The chase for the player involves teams from both the elite English Premier League and the second-tier Championship.
Reports indicate that five Premier League sides are actively exploring a deal for the Nigerian striker: Burnley, Brentford, Fulham, Sunderland, and West Ham. Simultaneously, three prominent Championship clubs—Ipswich Town, Leicester City, and Southampton—have also been alerted to the 22-year-old’s availability and strong form. Earlier tracking interest from Hull City and Derby County in November further underscores the widespread appeal of the young forward.
Durosinmi has delivered a strong performance for the Czech champions this season, tallying 10 goals in 24 total appearances across all competitions so far. This goal count includes six strikes in the league, with the remaining goals scored in the domestic cup and the Europa League.
Plzeň officials have maintained silence regarding the potential sale of the striker as the team continues to compete for silverware across all Czech competitions. However, they face the financial risk of losing him on a free transfer when his current contract expires in summer 2026; he initially joined the club on a three-year deal in July 2023.
The club reportedly remains in discussions with the player regarding a contract extension, though his agent, Lee Marsh, has not dismissed the high likelihood of a transfer occurring in the next few weeks.
Marsh provided clarity on the player’s priorities to newsmen:
“It’s all about getting the best project that matches his ambition. It’s not easy, but he can go from the Czech Republic to the UK and be such an amazing player,” Marsh told newsmen.
