Super Eagles center-back Olisa Ndah has officially embarked on a new career chapter by signing with Libyan club Al Shomooa. The 28-year-old defender finalized the move as a free agent following his departure from South African powerhouse Orlando Pirates at the end of last month. Ndah committed his immediate future to the Libyan outfit by penning a contract that spans eighteen months, effectively keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
The move marks the end of a successful four-year tenure in the South African Premier Soccer League, where Ndah established himself as a cornerstone of the Orlando Pirates’ backline. Having arrived at the Soweto-based club in 2021 from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Akwa United, the robust defender accumulated 51 league appearances for the Buccaneers. His consistent performances in South Africa helped him maintain a presence in the Nigerian national team setup, where he currently holds four international caps for the Super Eagles.
Al Shomooa secured Ndah’s signature amid reported interest from several North African clubs looking to bolster their defensive options with proven continental experience. The former NPFL champion brings significant tactical awareness and aerial prowess to his new team as they look to climb the Libyan league standings. Ndah is expected to undergo his first training session with his new teammates later this week as he settles into the sports environment in Libya.
