The Nigerian Falconets have been crowned champions of the WAFU B U-20 Girls Tournament in Bénin Republic following a commanding 3-0 victory against Ghana on Tuesday.
Janet Akekoromowei opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Alaba Olabiyi doubled the lead seven minutes later. Ramotalahi Kareem sealed the win with a goal on the hour mark, completing another dominant performance by the defending champions.
Both Akekoromowei and Kareem now have three goals each in the tournament, with Nigeria maintaining a perfect record of nine points and a +8 goal difference after three matches, scoring three goals in each outing.
Coach Moses Aduku’s side will wrap up the tournament with a final group game against the Young Amazons of Benin Republic on Wednesday morning.
