The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially extended the application deadline for the 2025/2026 academic session from January 31, 2026, to February 27, 2026.
This decision, announced by NELFUND’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, aims to provide prospective applicants with additional time to finalize and submit their applications.
“The extension reflects our commitment to inclusivity and access. We understand that some applicants may require extra time to complete their submissions, and this decision ensures that every eligible Nigerian student has a fair opportunity to benefit from the Fund,” Sawyerr stated.
In a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, NELFUND’s Director of Strategic Communications, encouraged all prospective applicants who have not yet applied or completed their applications to take advantage of this extended deadline.
She urged them to ensure that all necessary information is submitted by February 27, 2026, to maximize their chances of receiving financial support.
With this extension, NELFUND reinforces its mission to provide educational financial assistance to eligible students across Nigeria, ensuring that no one is left behind due to time constraints.
