Popular Nigerian comic actor Okemesi has passed away. He died on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m. at a hospital.
Reports indicate that the actor fell into a coma following complications from medication administered during his hospital stay. He had spent only a few hours in a coma before his death.
Fellow actor Tony Montana Jeff announced Okemesi’s death in a video shared on Instagram, confirming that his body had been taken to the mortuary.
“With a heavy heart, I’m announcing to the world that Okemesi is dead. The doctor pronounced him dead at exactly 11:50 a.m. this morning, February 24, 2026,” Jeff said.
He added, “On behalf of the entire Bamidele family, I’m announcing to the world that Oluwatope Bamidele Saint Okemesi is dead. We have taken the body to the morgue. We will communicate the rest of the arrangements to you all. We appreciate everyone who turned up for him. May God forgive Okemesi and rest his soul.”
The news has sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry, who remember Okemesi for his contributions to comedy and Nollywood.
