A groundbreaking digital initiative aimed at transforming women’s access to health information, education, and economic opportunities will be unveiled in Abuja on Friday, October 17. Known as the 5 Million Women Database, the project is spearheaded by the Ejike Oji Community Development Foundation in partnership with the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development.
The convener, Ejike Oji, said the platform consolidates over three decades of his work in women’s health and rights advocacy into a single interactive hub. “The women database is a one-stop shop for women, linking them to health information, services, and practical tools to improve their lives,” he explained.
The event will feature top dignitaries and will be hosted by The16th National President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Princess Edna Azura (Kwatam Mutaku), and co-hosted by Chairperson of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara.
The platform will feature innovative tools such as AI Medic, an AI-powered virtual doctor offering consultations for as little as ₦500 per 24 hours, a telemedicine app for live video consultations with doctors, and an internet speed test to ensure smooth connectivity.
Organisers say the platform seeks to empower at least five million women with verified information, digital literacy, and access to healthcare and economic resources. The initiative is envisioned as a sustainable way to close the gender gap in information, opportunity and wellbeing across Nigeria.
