While Nigeria successfully retained their team title, Rwanda’s strong overall performance was reflected in multiple personal accolades, signifying their development in the regional cricket scene.
Best Moment of the Tournament (Rwanda): Didier Ndikubwimana of Rwanda received recognition for the Best Moment, following a decisive leadership performance against Nigeria in the group stage. Stepping in as captain, Ndikubwimana anchored Rwanda’s innings with a composed 51 runs, guiding his side to a memorable 23-run victory. This group stage clash stood out as one of the defining matches of the competition and marked the only defeat Nigeria suffered throughout the entire tournament.
Best Batter (Nigeria): Danladi Isaac of Nigeria claimed the Best Batter award after a highly prolific campaign with the bat. The consistent right-hander accumulated an impressive 324 runs across nine innings, forming the backbone of Nigeria’s batting line-up and playing a key role in their march to a second consecutive West Africa Trophy title.
