The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a public holiday in celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
The announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Congratulating Nigerians on this historic milestone, the minister praised the spirit of patriotism, unity, and resilience that has sustained the nation since independence in 1960.
He urged citizens to remain steadfast in upholding these values as the country continues its journey toward greatness.
Tunji-Ojo further called on Nigerians to embrace President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a bold blueprint for national rebirth, economic growth, and shared prosperity.
“With collective effort and unwavering faith in our country, Nigeria will continue to march forward in peace, progress, and sustainable development,” the minister affirmed.
