Niger Tornadoes technical adviser, Majin Mohammed, has expressed acceptance of his side’s 1-0 loss to Rangers, emphasizing a forward-looking approach as they prepare for upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixtures.
The match, played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday, saw former NPFL champions Rangers claim all three points thanks to Kenechukwu Agu’s decisive strike. Despite Niger Tornadoes’ tactical plan, Mohammed acknowledged the game did not go in their favour.
“We came with a game plan and it nearly worked for us but it turned out the other way, that’s football for you, it’s either you win, draw or lose,” Mohammed said in a post-match interview.
The Minna-based side will now turn their attention to their next league challenge against defending champions Remo Stars at the Bako Kontagora Stadium this weekend. “We will put the defeat behind us, go back home and plan on how to get our own three points at home,” he added, underlining the team’s determination to bounce back.
This result leaves Niger Tornadoes seeking vital points as the NPFL season progresses, highlighting the competitive nature of the league and the need for consistent performances to climb the standings.
