American rapper Nicki Minaj has voiced concern over the rising persecution of Christians around the world, warning that ignoring such violence poses a danger to global peace and humanity.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the Grammy-nominated artist expressed gratitude for living in a country where freedom of worship is protected and called for collective compassion toward victims of religious discrimination.
“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God,” Minaj wrote. “No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.”
The Super Bass hitmaker praised former U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration for classifying Nigeria as a country of particular concern due to violations of religious freedom.
“Thank you to the President and his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer,” she added.
Minaj also noted that numerous nations are grappling with acts of religious intolerance, urging the global community not to “pretend we don’t notice.”
Her remarks have drawn attention to ongoing debates around religious freedom and human rights, particularly in regions where minority faith communities continue to face violence and discrimination.
