President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has praised the Super Eagles following their convincing 4-1 win over Gabon in Thursday’s semi-final clash of the 2026 World Cup playoffs in Rabat.
Victor Osimhen scored twice, while Jerome Adams Akor and Chidera Ejuke also found the net in the high-energy encounter.
The Super Eagles will face the Democratic Republic of Congo—who edged Cameroon 1-0—in Sunday’s final.
Gusau expressed confidence in Nigeria’s ability to finish the job:
“The players rose stoutly to the occasion and made Nigeria proud with a solid performance. No doubt, they have the grit, guts and winning mentality to conquer whoever turns out to be the opposition in Sunday’s final.”
