President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles will book their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria missed out on automatic qualification but now have another chance through the African playoffs.
The Super Eagles will take on Gabon in the semi-final at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat on Thursday.
If they progress, the team will face either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final.
Speaking during an interview, Gusau said he has full faith in the players and the technical crew to deliver.
“We believe in the players and their ability to make Nigeria proud, not only on Thursday, but throughout these playoffs. We have a team capable of earning a World Cup ticket,” he stated.
The African playoff mini-tournament will determine which team advances to the intercontinental playoffs for a spot in the 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
