Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the National Assembly, has said that his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, must undergo rehabilitation to address issues related to alleged drug abuse and safeguard her overall well-being.
The lawmaker made this known in an interview with journalists on Sunday, explaining that the decision was necessary to ensure Daniels remains healthy and mentally stable enough to care for their two young children.
According to Nwoko, his stance follows what he described as “alarming toxicology reports” showing elevated levels of harmful substances in the actress’s system.
He alleged that his wife’s behaviour had changed in recent months, noting increased aggression, destructive tendencies, and frequent health crises that raised serious concern.
“I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children,” Nwoko said. “We have two young kids together, and they cannot fight for themselves. I’m going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother.”
The senator emphasized that his actions stem from love and concern, warning that drug-related health issues have claimed many lives.
“Many people have died of drug overdose,” he added. “If anything happens to her now, what will I tell her children tomorrow?”
As of press time, Regina Daniels had not publicly responded to her husband’s claims.
