Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has rejected claims circulating on social media that he is preventing his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, from seeing their two children, Munir and Khalifa.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his communications team, Nwoko described the allegations as inaccurate and misleading. The statement, titled “Take the Window of Quietude for Therapy,” denied suggestions that the senator is deliberately restricting access to the children or using them for public attention.
According to the statement, sharing family moments involving the children has been a longstanding practice within the household. It added that Daniels has, in the past, publicly shared photos and videos of not only her own children but also those of Nwoko’s other wives, without raising concerns about privacy or exploitation.
Nwoko’s team further claimed that Daniels’ absence from the children’s lives has been by choice, alleging that she has prioritised social activities over consistent involvement. The statement maintained that the children are currently in a stable environment focused on routine, care, and emotional well-being.
The senator also disclosed that an Abuja court has issued an order directing Daniels to undergo drug rehabilitation and an assessment by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before access to the children can be reconsidered.
The case has been adjourned to February 4, 2026, for substantive hearing.
The dispute became public in October 2025 following allegations of substance abuse and domestic issues, escalating into a custody-related legal battle that has since drawn widespread public attention.
