Nigerian lawmaker and businessman, Senator Ned Nwoko, has likened monogamy to standing on one leg, arguing that having multiple wives brings more “balance” to a man’s life.
The senator, who is married to popular actress Regina Daniels, made the comment during an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels Television on Sunday night, where he spoke in defense of polygamy.
Nwoko, currently facing reports of marital conflict with Regina Daniels, said he feels “sorry” for men who have only one wife.
“Just imagine standing on one leg, it’s difficult,” he said. “But it’s much more balanced to stand on two, three, or four. I feel sorry for those with one wife. I have no regrets, and I would do the same thing again.”
His statement comes amid growing speculation about his relationship with his fourth wife, Regina Daniels.
A viral video circulating online recently featured Regina alleging that she had experienced domestic violence in her marriage. Nwoko, however, denied the claims, accusing the actress of substance abuse instead.
Fueling the rumors further, Regina shared a new photo on her Instagram page Sunday evening, standing on the balcony of what appears to be a new home. The post, captioned “I needed a roof over my head,” has stirred widespread speculation that she may have moved out of the senator’s residence.
While neither party has issued an official statement confirming a split, social media users continue to debate the couple’s relationship and Nwoko’s controversial remarks about polygamy.
