Senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, has confirmed the authenticity of medical reports circulating about estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. The reports which reveal dangerous illegal substance levels have been trending on social media, at about the same time the actress shared a supportive encounter with singer Tiwa Savage on Instagram.
Nwoko posted the statement signed by his Communication Team lead on his X account on Saturday. It outlined what the reports contained, when the incidents allegedly occurred, who interfered with treatment, and why he insists on rehabilitation, while Daniels posted photos from her meeting with Tiwa Savage the same day.
In his statement, Nwoko said:
“A medical report concerning Regina Nwoko has been circulating online.
The reports are genuine… The public is encouraged to read the full reports… Both the toxicology report and the Serenity Hospital report confirm the presence of the same substances, all at levels that pose serious health risks: Marijuana, Cocaine, Morphine, Opiates at extremely elevated levels, Alcohol at a critically dangerous level.
The Nizamiya Hospital report dated 3rd October adds… She was brought into the hospital unconscious from a drug overdose.”
He also alleged interference from relatives:
“The reports also describe the challenges… including persistent interference from her siblings… Their actions made effective treatment impossible…”
Explaining his insistence on therapy, he added:
“Many have questioned why the Senator is insisting on therapy… She is vulnerable… Her online behaviour reflects her current struggles…”
Nwoko said private efforts had failed:
“Past attempts to help her privately did not succeed… must we wait until Regina reaches a point of irreversible harm…”
He concluded: “The reports are authentic… Regina needs consistent treatment, support, and protection… She is a mother, and she deserves the chance to regain her health…”
Shortly after the statement went viral, Regina Daniels posted photos with Tiwa Savage, writing:
“Had an enlightening conversation with a true icon today @tiwasavage. One thing I’ll always stand by is this: i only take counsel from those who have walked a path similar to mine. Her wisdom lifted my spirit – and her thoughtful dollar-gift put the brightest smile on my face. I’m so used to being the giver, but she insisted it was my turn to receive something beautiful. Thank you, Mamito for pouring into me with both wisdom and love. Plus I also passed my big love and kiss from my mama @mercyjohnsonokojie”
The posts from both sides have drawn renewed public attention to Regina Daniels’ wellbeing, the circumstances surrounding the leaked reports, and the support she says she is receiving from those close to her.
