Senator Ned Nwoko has denied allegations of domestic violence made by his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, following a viral video in which she appeared distressed and claimed to be suffering abuse in their marriage.
In a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, the lawmaker accused Regina of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol, claiming her alleged addiction was the root of their marital problems.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety,” Nwoko wrote in the statement titled ‘Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage And Rampage In My House And In My Absence’.
He alleged that the actress turned violent and destructive in his absence, slapping and hitting three members of staff within 48 hours and vandalising cars and windows in their compound.
“I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting 3 staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause,” Nwoko stated.
According to him, he had offered to send Regina for rehabilitation in Asokoro or abroad, including Jordan, where “she will not have access to drugs.”
He also claimed she had threatened a nurse for “exposing her drug abuse” and named two alleged suppliers, Sammy and Ann, accusing them of enabling her addiction.
The post was accompanied by a video showing vandalised property within the senator’s residence.
The controversy follows the viral clip released earlier in which Regina Daniels was seen saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house I am nothing, but in my own house I am a Queen. Not again, I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.”
Her brother had also reacted on Instagram, accusing the senator of physically assaulting her and vowing to defend her.
At the time of this report, Regina Daniels has not issued any response to her husband’s latest allegations.
