To make drug testing and visa clearance easier and faster, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has launched a new online portal, allowing applicants to apply and schedule appointments from anywhere.
The platform, unveiled in Abuja on Tuesday, digitizes the Agency’s Drug Integrity Test and Visa E-Administration System (DITViCAS).
At the launch, NDLEA Chairman/CEO, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) described the portal as “a paradigm shift in our fight against substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking, where enforcement meets efficiency through cutting-edge technology.”
The system allows applicants to choose preferred testing locations, book convenient dates, and complete applications online, eliminating delays from the previous manual process. Private medical centres can now partner as accredited testing centres, and certificates are generated instantly to prevent falsification.
The portal also includes background checks, supervisory dashboards, and verification protocols, ensuring reliability and protecting Nigeria’s international reputation. Visa clearance is typically completed within three days.
NDLEA emphasized that the service covers students and the general public without stigmatization, while rehabilitation and counseling remain available for those who test positive, supporting both drug demand reduction and public care initiatives.
