Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi opened his goal account for Besiktas as the Turkish giants secured a 2–0 victory over Konyaspor in their Super Lig clash at the Konya Buyuksehir Belediye Stadium on Wednesday.
Ndidi, recently named vice-captain, played a commanding role in midfield alongside new skipper Orkun Kökcü. The pair combined brilliantly for the opener, with Kökcü setting up Ndidi to slot home his first goal for the club.
Despite sustained pressure from the hosts, Besiktas maintained their composure and went into halftime with a narrow lead.
Konyaspor dominated possession in the second half but were unable to find a breakthrough against a disciplined Besiktas backline. Their frustration was compounded in the 73rd minute when Tammy Abraham capitalised on a goalkeeping blunder by Derniz Ertas, stealing the ball and finishing into an empty net to seal the win.
The result extends Besiktas’ unbeaten run and highlights Ndidi’s growing influence in the heart of the team’s midfield.
