The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted a series of coordinated precision airstrikes targeting terrorist and bandit hideouts across Kwara, Katsina, and several other parts of the northwest.
In a statement released by NAF headquarters, the Force confirmed that its aircraft executed simultaneous air interdiction missions over Garin Dandi and Chigogo in Kwara State.
Acting on reliable intelligence, the airstrikes reportedly hit multiple bandit camps “with devastating accuracy,” causing panic among the criminals and inflicting significant casualties.
NAF added that a related operation under Operation FANSAN YAMMA targeted Zango Hill in Kankara, Katsina State—reportedly a major hideout for a notorious terrorist kingpin and his fighters.
Guided by actionable intelligence and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) support, the air component carried out several attack runs, destroying key logistics hubs and neutralising multiple terrorists in what was described as one of the operation’s most decisive strikes.
The Air Force further disclosed that its air component under Operation FANSAN YAMMA (Sector 1) conducted an extensive Armed Reconnaissance Mission across critical parts of Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States, including Kakihum, Dankolo, Kotonkoro, and Kuyello—areas known as major transit routes and hideouts for armed groups along the Birnin Gwari–Funtua axis.
During the mission, coordinated intelligence from Forward Operating Bases at Dankolo and Kotonkoro revealed suspicious movement around Wam Hill, where terrorists on motorcycles were seen attempting to escape.
The aircrew swiftly engaged the fleeing targets, neutralising them with no further hostile activity detected.
NAF stated that the success of these precision missions across Borno, Kwara, Katsina, and the wider northwestern corridor reflects its heightened operational tempo under the directives of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.
The statement affirmed that each mission underscores the Force’s commitment to deploying smarter, intelligence-driven airpower to deliver decisive blows against terrorists and criminal elements while safeguarding citizens and strengthening national security.
